Prior to making recommendations regarding any educational or behavioral program Kirstin conducts assessments in order to identify the childís unique strengths and needs, and to determine the services appropriate to meet those needs. No single procedure is used as the sole criterion for evaluating the child. Specific assessment methods are chosen based on what best suits the behavior and the context.
A formalized assessment of skills (cognitive, language, socialization, adaptive behavior, fine and gross motor, and play) is also conducted at regular intervals during the program. Assessment results are used as a guide for program evaluation and planning.
Tools utilized for assessment and evaluation may include, but are not limited to:
Functional Behavioral Assessments
Conners Comprehensive Behavior Rating Scale
Behavior Assessment System for Children, Second Edition (BASC-2)
ABLLS-R - The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills -Revised
VB-MAPP - The Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program
